About Kelly
Her Work:
Kelly has performed internationally with Arcola Theatre (London), as well as regionally with Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Kansas City Repertory, NY Classical, Palm Beach Dramaworks, Unicorn Theatre, Riverside Theatre, Perseverance Theatre and Colorado Shakespeare to name a few. Favorite roles include Jen in Bekah Brunstetter's The Cake, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Louise in The Underpants. Kelly has appeared on TV in HBO’s The Other Two, Hack My Life, and Scary Mommy. She is a fierce fiddler, lover of poetry, and enjoys involvement in new play/musical development. Kelly is a member of AEA/SAG-AFTRA and holds an MFA from University of Missouri at Kansas City and a BFA from CU-Boulder. Her deepest thanks to her ever-supportive family, the ever-inspiring Mary Oliver, and her fierce artistic wolf-pack.
Her Spirit:
If Kelly had an album featuring her fierce fiddling and folk-loving spirit, her title song would be called “Whiskey Kisses.” Her sassy humor is as spicy and complex as a good rye. Her soul-food is poetry and her nightstand full of Mary Oliver, Rumi, Dickinson, Rapi Kaur...a free spirit full of giggles, generosity, and game-playing that honor her inner child...she will always ask the question: "What will you do with your one wild and precious life?!" A candle, her cat Rye Rye, and a cup of good earl grey can heal her wounds. Nature will always be her muse - the sight of the sea will consistently bring her to laughter or tears. Barefoot with salt in her hair is her preferred state of being and she firmly believes in the existence of fairies and an appropriate beverage for every phase of the day. The stars and trees guide her spirituality and if you can’t find her, check the yoga studio or park, her family home in Denver, Enthaice Thai, LGA, the sale section at Anthro, or the poetry section in a used bookstore.
Kelly is an introvert, following her extrovert tendencies. Once described as a Plumeria Tree, very subtle during many parts of the year, but when in bloom, one of the most respected flowers in Hawaiian culture...a surprise of deep beauty and vibrancy that was there all along, Kelly has made it her brand. You will be surprised. Don’t underestimate the sweet blonde girl wearing the plumeria lay. There’s a whole cacophony of sass, smirks, queerness, edge, taurus bull energy & Gemini moon grace ready to release at any moment. Don’t doubt you’ll be charmed by her witty, light banter right before she “goes to the basement” with her emotions and you’re hit in the gut with some raw f’ing poignance. (catch-phrase coined by CATF’s former AD Ed Herendeen)
“Life is tattooing scripture into your flesh.”
